Sid Meier’s Civilization V Now Available on Linux

OMG!Ubuntu! has posted an article with incredible news.  It had already been announced that Sid Meier’s Civlization: Beyond Earth would support Linux at launch.  Today’s news is excellent for the Linux community.

Up until now, the only way to play Civ V on Linux was to use Wine.  This had problems, including that Civ V’s startup movie could not run via Wine.  Now, the game is available on Steam – for Steam OS and Linux.

I cannot praise the Civilization series enough.  The game lets you choose from a range of world leaders who give you a choice between a domination, scientific, cultural, democratic or time-based victory.
